The driver of a £300,000 Aston Martin DB5 is probably regretting taking his car for a spin after getting in stuck in flood water in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

The DB5 is one of the most iconic models in British motoring history, partly due to its gorgeous styling, but mainly due to its association with a certain secret agent. It is, however, unlikely that James Bond would ever get himself stranded in flood water.

It is believed that the driver ignored signs that the road underneath the bridge between Woolstone and Longcot was flooded with over two feet of water, deciding instead to test the underwater capabilities of his Aston.

Unfortunately, and in true vintage Aston-style, the car broke down halfway through the puddle, leaving the driver stranded.

Christy Bate snapped the photo you see above after she and her boyfriend Tom Kennedy came across the flooded road. Mr Kennedy told the Daily Mail: "We came across the stuck cars and realised it was a vintage car which had become stuck.

"I looked through the window and the water was right up to the seats -- it was waterlogged."

The car had recently undergone a complete restoration and was in concours condition before the accident. It is likely to cost thousands to return it to mint condition.
