The 2011 Land Rover Freelander 2 has picked up the Parkers' New Car Award 2011 in the 4x4 category.

The Parkers' New Car Awards celebrate 'the cars that make your cash go further' and the Freelander 2 clearly impressed the judges. Kieren Puffett, editor of Parkers said, "The Land Rover Freelander 2 2.2 TD4 'S' won the Parkers' New Car Awards 2011 4x4 category because the Freelander has genuine off-road capability, has an up market feel, high build quality and a roomy interior."

Mr Puffett also commented on Land Rover's introduction of stop/start technology on the Freelander, helping the new car to deliver 45mpg and placing it in Road Tax band G.

Built at Land Rover's Halewood factory in Liverpool, the Freelander 2 is available to buy from £22,745 and is offered with a 2.2-litre diesel engine with either 150bhp or 190bhp power outputs.
