Ford commercial vehicles have celebrated victory in five different categories in the ‘Vans A2Z awards’, with the Ford Transit claiming the ‘Van of the Year’ accolade.
The Ford Transit was named overall Van of the Year for 2012, impressing the judges with its all-round capabilities. Other vehicles which received honours included the Ford Ranger, awarded Best Pick-up, the Ford Transit, winning the Best Small Panel Van prize, the Ford Transit, also awarded Best Minibus, and the Ford FiestaVan, which was honoured with the Highly Commended Small Van accolade.
A proud manufacturer
Steve Clary, Ford of Britain commercial vehicles director, appreciated the operators choosing the Transit for its reliability and cost of ownership, especially considering the current tough economic climate.
Clary re-affirmed that the latest models are saving operators hundreds of pounds in fuel, making them the most efficient, durable and technologically-advanced version of this iconic commercial vehicle so far.
Finally, he added, "In true Transit tradition, we offer a wide range for our minibus customers - luxury or practicality from nine to 17 seats. All Ford Transit Minibuses are equipped with seats and seat mountings that are tested to car levels. This is around twice the severity of legal testing requirements for commercial vehicles. It was good to see FiestaVan in the awards line-up - it is already segment leader as we introduce a new, lower CO2 model."
On top of this, Ford recently celebrated two other awards given by CarBuyer magazine. The Ford Fiesta was honoured as the Best Small Car for 2012 and the Ford Mondeo won the Best Large Family Car 2012 prize.
