The Range Rover Evoque has been named Car of the Year by Auto Express magazine one month before it goes on sale in the UK.

The Evoque also won 'Best Compact SUV' with the Land Rover Discovery 4 winning 'Best Large SUV' for the second year running. Auto Express praised the Evoque's price with acting Editor Graham Hope commenting, "The Evoque puts the hugely desirable Range Rover brand within the reach of compact executive car buyers for the very first time."

He went on to say, "The winner of the Auto Express Car of the Year prize really needs to break the mould - and the Range Rover Evoque does exactly that. You have only to look at its concept car styling to see why the British firm already has a bulging order book for the new baby of its range. Its appeal goes far beyond its distinctive styling."

Available as both a five-door and three-door coupe, the Evoque goes on sale next month with prices starting from £27,955.
