Dacia has released the first official photos of the new Sandero ahead of its debut at next week's Paris Motor Show.

Of course, the Sandero is not a new car -- it's been on sale in Europe for five years now -- however, Dacia has given the Sandero a facelift, and it's this new, improved model which will be winging its way to the UK next year.

This news comes just a couple of months after Dacia announced the introduction of its Duster 4x4 to the UK market and, in terms of specification and trim levels, the two cars are broadly similar.

This means that all Sanderos will get ABS, power steering and airbags; however, base models will have to do without alloy wheels, electric mirrors and air conditioning.

Of course, the Sandero's major trump card will be its price tag and, with prices starting from under £7,000, the Dacia will undercut its rivals from Ford and Vauxhall by about two grand.

The Sandero will go on sale here in Blighty in January, and will be available from Renault dealers.
