British buyers interested in purchasing Citroen's Electric Vehicles can now take advantage of the firm's new finance plan.

Citroën UK is intending to make the purchase of EVs easier for buyers across the country. This is why the manufacturer has announced C-Zero's new price positioning.

The C-Zero plan includes a OTR price reduction from £33,155 to £26,216 - as well as a £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant. The Government grant will see the price further reduced to £21,216.

The car maker will also introduce new Contract Hire rentals from £249 per month over 3 years/30,000 miles, as well as a considerable increase in the size and coverage of Citroën UK's EV Specialist Dealer Network - including additional 'sales & service' points in specific locations.

Linda Jackson, Citroën UK's Managing Director, said that 2011 marked the introduction of EVs in the UK and added:

"2012 will see the market continue to grow as the technology becomes more accepted by consumers, more manufacturers enter the market and the charging infrastructure continues to develop. Citroën has been at the forefront with C-Zero and this latest announcement confirms the next stage in our development plans."

Positive prospects

In addition, the firm announced its intention to expand its EV range in 2013 thanks to the introduction of a new electric Berlingo van, which will qualify for the recently announced extension to the Government's EV grant.

Citroën is also planning to almost double the number of its EV Specialist sales networks from 11 to 21 dealers - with the ten new sites being located in cities around the UK.

The car maker is also aiming to boost its current aftersales EV network, growing from 11 specialist dealers to a network of around 100 locations across the UK.
