BMW hope their electric duo the i3 and i8 will wow the crowds at this weekend’s Regent Street Motor Show.

The two models will take centre stage on the BMW stand as the manufacturer showcases its latest electric and plug-in hybrid technology. The free-entry motor show takes place between Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus, displaying more than 300 cars from the past, present, and future of motoring.

Of the more than 100,000 all-electric or plug-in hybrids sold globally so far by BMW, the i3 accounts for more than 60%, almost 6,000 of those have been to UK buyers. Since its launch in 2013 the BMW i3 with range extender has been the most popular model, but the i3 94Ah has since joined the line up and built on that popularity.

Meanwhile, more than 10,000 examples of the BMW i8 sports car have been delivered since its launch in mid-2014, with 17% of those sold in the UK.
