Bentley’s flagship Mulsanne model has been picked by readers of Centurion Magazine as their top choice in the ‘Best Limousine/Saloon Car’ category.
Centurion is a luxury lifestyle magazine for holders of the Centurion Card, American Express' most exclusive credit card. After more than ten years of inspiring its readers with luxury travel and lifestyle product choices the magazine decided to allow its readers to take the lead in choosing the most inspirational products of 2010, with a set of Readers' Choice Awards. Readers from around the world gave their opinions in the first ever global survey of this scale into luxury lifestyle preferences, and the winning car in the 'Best Limousine / Saloon Car' category was the Bentley Mulsanne.
The distinctive body of the Mulsanne is manufactured at the company's facility in Crewe, where traditional skills developed over six decades are used in the production process. Complementing these traditional methods is the latest in-car technology which comes with the Mulsanne, such as a multimedia system with 60GB hard disc and 8 inch screen, with leather-lined media player stowage drawer with extensive connectivity options.
Creating the interior of the Mulsanne takes over 170 hours, which equates to nearly half of the whole build process. Features include a range of premium veneers that are unbleached so that they look natural, an extensive range of colours for the leather hides, and a choice of marquetry options - picture frame or contemporary cross-banding.
The Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley, Wolfgang Duerheimer, commented on the award saying "The Centurion readers' award for the new Mulsanne, which has been designed and engineered at Crewe from the ground-up, is a significant honour for Bentley. We are delighted that our efforts to create a new Bentley flagship combining performance with very high levels of luxury and refinement have been recognised in this way."
