Audi has released a series of official sketches which show a new compact crossover concept which is planned to make its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show next year.
Although as yet unnamed, the new crossover concept is said to offer a glimpse of how the next generation of Audi Q models -- including the new Q1, which was confirmed earlier this week -- will look.
Audi claims that the concept is "a crossover with a distinctly sporting slant," with high ground clearance and a shooting brake body style.
Measuring 4.2m in length, the crossover concept is shorter than Audi's current smallest SUV, the Q3, and is roughly the same length as the three-door A3. The overhangs are short too, with the 19-inch wheels sitting close to the corners of the car. This not only gives the concept an aggressive stance, but it also hints at sports car-like handling characteristics.
Details are scarce on the concept at this stage; however, we expect more information to be released in the run-up to the car's unveiling in Detroit.
