Aston Martin has unveiled the replacement for the DBRS9 racer, the Vantage GT3.

The new car is based on the V12 Vantage road car and will feature a lighter V12 6.0-litre engine with a dry sump. Power will be mediated through a semi-automatic racing gearbox and new traction control and ABS systems. The GT3 should weigh around 1250kg and deliver more than 600bhp and 516lb-ft of torque.

The old DBRS9 has seen great success in national and international racing since its launch in 2006 and Aston Martin will be hoping that the Vantage GT3 can continue this success.

The GT3 is set to be completed in July and will race from the beginning of next year.
