Alfa Romeo is 101 years old this month and the Italian manufacturer is celebrating by unveiling its new 4C Concept car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the beginning of next month.
The 4C Concept is a two-seater coupé with a mid-mounted 200bhp 4 cylinder petrol engine feeding power - through a new Alfa TCT gearbox - to the rear wheels. 0-62mph arrives in less than 5 seconds and acceleration continues right up to 155mph.
These figures are achieved through extensive use of lightweight materials and the 4C is full of carbon-fibre and aluminium. The 4C also features Alfa’s DNA system.
Alfa Romeo is also taking this opportunity to unveil their new MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde which will stand with the 4C alongside a selection of cars from Alfa Romeo’s past. The Alfa 6C 3000CM driven by Juan Manuel Fangio will be on show, marking the 60th anniversary of his 1951 Formula One World Championship.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from the 1st to the 3rd of July.
