The current Golf is the Golf MK7 (introduced in 2012), Volkswagen have stuck to a winning formula with the newest model but have improved it significantly over the older Mk6 model.

The Volkswagen Golf is a great refined all-rounder which never fails to provide a good ride.


The original Volkswagen Golf was put into production in 1974 and was known as the Volkswagen Golf Mk1 it has since received a bunch of updates which have kept the model competitive throughout.

The Mk1 had been produced for 9 years before the Mk2 version hit production in 1983. The Mk3 was produced from 1991 to 1999 with the Mk4 being produced from 1997 to 2004. The Mk5 was produced between 2003 and 2009 before being replaced by the Mk6 in 2009. The current Mk7 Golf went on sale in late 2012.

There are also 2 electric versions the blue-e-motion which was introduced in 2011 and the Golf Variant Twin Drive which is expected to arrive in 2015.

The Volkswagen Golf is a favourite amongst families and the younger car buyers. It truly is a great all-rounder and is therefore amongst the top 10 most popular cars in Britain.
