The G 37 Convertible is fitted with a 3.7-litre V6 engine developing 315bhp and 265lb-ft of torque. 0-62mph takes 6.4 seconds, which is good but not amazing - a similarly priced BMW 3 Series Cabriolet will manage it in under 6 seconds - and the top speed is limited to 155mph.
The G 37 handles well and has good steering. This is partly down to Nissan's four-wheel steer system which makes the car more agile at lower speeds and more stable at higher speeds. The ride isn't bad either.
The G 37 Convertible is a very good looking car and there is a good quality feel to the interior.
You get a very comprehensive list of standard equipment including alloys, climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, leather seats, sat-nav, Bluetooth and a CD player with MP3 connectivity.
Although Euro NCAP have not tested the G 37, it is likely to be a very safe car thanks to the inclusion of driver, passenger and side airbags.
Reliability shouldn't be an issue either. Nissan make very reliable cars indeed and it therefore stands to reason that Infinitis should be similarly dependable. You get a 3 year/60,000 mile warranty included as standard which should protect you if anything does go wrong.
Four people can sit comfortably in the G 37 Convertible and you'll get five in at a pinch. However, luggage space is unimpressive - you only get a measly 366-litres of boot space.
At £45,235, the G 37 Convertible is not cheap. For a similar sort of price you can get a BMW 335i Convertible or an Audi S5 Cabriolet, both of which are better cars.
You can't even expect low running costs either. You'll struggle to top 25mpg and CO2 emissions of 264g/km mean the G 37 falls under the highest VED band, M. Group 48 insurance is also very pricey.

The Infinit G 37 Convertible is Nissan's attempt at stealing sales away from the BMW 3 Series. It was designed for the American market and it shows. Not half bad, but not nearly good enough.
