The Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country are to undergo a facelift in line with the rest of the Volvo Cars range.
Foremost amongst the revisions are new LED ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlights, shared with Volvo’s new XC90, S90 and V90 models. This sets the V40 and V40 Cross Country apart in their field by offering LED headlights as standard across the range. A new grille mesh with a bolder Volvo Iron Mark motif is also being introduced.
Eight new wheel designs and five new colours, including the completely new Amazon Blue and Denim Blue hues, also join the V40 and V40 Cross Country ranges.
Improvements to the D2 manual powertrain sees CO2 levels fall to just 89g/k, while the V40’s trim levels change in line with those found in the new XC90 with Momentum and Inscription models now available. A new City Weave upholstery taken from the award-winning Volvo Concept Estate comes in, as do several new interior panel trims, tread plates, and an updated key fob.
Updates have also been made to the Volvo On Call smartphone app, with the new Microsoft Band 2 connectivity enabling voice-control when using Windows 10-based smarthphones. A new calendar integration can now send calendar appointment destinations directly to the navigation system. Volvo will also introduce Flic button compatibility with Volvo On Call, a single physical ‘smart button’ which can perform several tasks, such as locking the car, and can be used as a shortcut to Volvo On Call services. Volvo now also offers support for Windows 10 with a new version of the Volvo On Call application that can be used on regular PCs and tablets to interact with your car.
