The Volvo S60 Polestar concept will be unveiled next week at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
We told you back into July that Volvo is considering putting the S60 Polestar concept into production, and although there is no further news on whether it will see the light of day, we can reveal some of the car's technical specs.
Polestar, Volvo's performance division (think AMG, but more Swedish), has given the standard S60 a thorough going over, adding a new cylinder head and inlet manifold to the car's straight-six engine. The result of this fettling is 508bhp and 424lb-ft of torque, making the Polestar a convincing rival for the BMW M5 and the upcoming Jaguar XFR-S.
Underneath, the chassis has been widened, a four-wheel drive system has been added and the brakes have been beefed up to cope with the extra power. On the outside, 19-inch wheels, a subtle bodykit and Rebel Blue paintwork differentiate the Polestar from a standard S60.
