Volvo's S60 Polestar concept could make it to production, the managing director of Volvo UK has revealed.

Nick Connor told Autocar magazine that Volvo is "in serious discussion with Polestar to try and make the S60 a reality."

The S60 Polestar concept is fitted with a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six developing 500bhp and, if it ever sees the light of day, will be sold in very limited numbers and cost more than £100k.

Volvo has undergone something of a renaissance in recent years with models such as the T5 helping the Swedish firm to rid itself of its dowdy image and if the Polestar makes it into production, it will help reinforce Volvo's sporting image.
