Volvo has revealed its new V40 R-Design, ahead of the car's debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month.

A range of exterior styling tweaks give the R-Design a more aggressive appearance than the standard V40. At the front, the R-Design gets a high-gloss grille with a new front bumper and daytime running lights, while at the back the new car gets an ironstone rear diffuser, 'silk' metal detailing and twin exhaust pipes.

Inside, the R-Design gets a new steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake, and the seats are available in either full leather, or 'Nubuck' textile with leather, and carry blue R-Design logos.

The car sits a full 10mm closer to the ground than the standard V40 and features firmer suspension and stiffer anti-roll bars. In addition to this, the R-Design comes with 17-inch alloys as standard, with special 18-inch wheels as an optional extra.

The R-Design comes with the same range of engines as the standard V40.

The Volvo V40 R-Design will be launched next month, with prices starting from £21,720.
