Volvo have lived up to their enviable reputation for safety with a brace of top marks from the latest round of Euro NCAP crash tests.

The recently released S90 saloon and V90 estate models are the first cars to be tested to Euro NCAP’s stringent 2017 test regime, with both achieving the full five stars. The Volvo pair performed strongly due to their package of advanced safety technologies. In common with the larger XC90, the S90 and V90 include standard-fit autonomous emergency braking - for both vehicle and pedestrian hazards - as well as lane and speed assistance.

The S90 and V90 results surpass the best overall score of any model tested last year and, and see to it that Euro NCAP’s top-3 best performing cars ever are all Volvo products.

“Volvo has invested in safety, has made key technologies standard across the model range and the results speak for themselves: a very impressive five-star rating”, said Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP.
