Venturi has announced that it will attempt to break the current electric land speed record next year.
The French electric vehicle manufacturer already holds the current electric land speed record, set at 307.666mph by Buckeye Bullet 2.5 back in 2010; however, the firm's new VBB-3 electric car is reportedly capable of more than 372mph.
The VBB-3 weighs around 4.5-tonnes and develops 3,000bhp and 2,065lb-ft of torque.
Venturi were originally hoping to set the world record at some point over the past few days at the Bonneville salt flats in Utah; however, the team has had to push the attempt back to next year due to poor weather conditions. The car has, however, been officially unveiled in Utah by none other than Prince Albert II of Monaco, a man who judging by his rather impressive collection of cars, is something of a petrolhead.
The French manufacturer isn't the only team with eyes on the worldwide EV record, however: the Bluebird team is also working towards its own record attempt, but it'll be 2015 at the earliest before their attempt take place.
