Vauxhall will use next month's Frankfurt Motor Show to debut its new Monza concept, a car which is claimed to reveal the GM subsidiary's future design language.
The Monza concept, which was first revealed in a teaser image last month, features a B-pillar-less gullwing body, an innovative new interior multimedia system and a range-extender hybrid drivetrain.

At 4.69 metres long, the Monza is longer than an Astra but shorter than an Insignia. As you can see, it also looks radically different to anything in the current Vauxhall line-up. Vauxhall claims that the Monza's styling was inspired by "the lean physique and slim waist of a greyhound dog" (right...) and was modelled on ocean waves lapping against the shore.
Marketing bumf aside, you'd have to admit that the Monza does look pretty terrific. It's the same story inside too where you'll find that Vauxhall has done away with the traditional dashboard and fitted a wide, sculpted dash which sweeps from door to door which features LED projection technology to transform the dash into one large screen.
Vauxhall also claims that the Monza will feature comprehensive smartphone technology with a number of innovative new features, such as the ability to communicate with other cars.
Under the bonnet, the Monza is fitted with a development of the hybrid system used in the Vauxhall Ampera, with a range-extender 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a number of electric motors which power the wheels.
