Vauxhall is using the Frankfurt Motor Show to showcase no fewer than five new or revised UK models in its ecoFLEX range.
Vauxhall's ecoFLEX brand promises CO2 emissions of between 94g/km and 119g/km, with models ranging in size from the Corsa to the 7-seater Zafira.
The Insignia ecoFLEX unveiled in Frankfurt shows the biggest improvement, with revisions to the 158bhp 2.0-ltre CDTi model resulting in a 12.2 percent reduction in its CO2 emissions to 116g/km. As a result it is now exempt from first year road tax and liable for just £30 per year thereafter. Performance figures for the Vauxhall Insignia ecoFLEX remain unchanged.
The 128bhp Vauxhall Astra ecoFLEX is now the most economical Astra ever with VED-busting CO2 emissions of 99g/km, and a combined 76.3mpg. These improved figures result from the introduction of Start/Stop, regenerative braking, active radiator grille aero-shutter, and a lowered body.
The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer ecoFLEX 2.0-litre CDTi on show in Frankfurt develops 128bhp and is fitted as standard with Start/Stop, a variable geometry turbocharger, low rolling resistance tyres and active radiator grille aero-shutter, all of which combine to help the seven-seater achieve a combined 62.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 119g/km.
Frankfurt also witnesses the introduction of two additional engines to the new Vauxhall GTC range. The 1.7-litre CDTi units come with Start/Stop, and generate 109bhp and 128bhp respectively. These engines return a combined 68.9mpg in the Astra GTC, and just 109g/km of CO2 emissions.
