Vauxhall has announced that its new city car will be called Adam when it hits the market in 2013.
The new Adam will be Vauxhall's latest addition to its small car line-up, and will be more upmarket than the current Corsa and Agila models. Vauxhall hopes that the Adam's premium image will put it in direct competition with the MINI and the all-conquering Fiat 500.
Vauxhall claims that it has chosen the name Adam because it is universal, original and "robust and technical." The new car will be almost exactly the same length as the Agila - 3.7-metres - and will seat four people.
These photos show the Adam under heavy disguise and give few clues as to how the car will actually look. Vauxhall claims that customers will be able to customise their car significantly thanks to a wide range of paint colours, trim levels and optional extras.
There is no word yet on pricing or specification but expect the Adam to be priced from somewhere around the £10k mark.
The Vauxhall Adam will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September.
