Vauxhall has announced that the new Adam city car will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on 27th September.

Vauxhall will also announce the full details and prices of the new model and begin taking orders.

At launch, the Adam will be available with petrol engines only: a 69bhp 1.2 and a 1.4 with either 86bhp or 99bhp; however, a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine will become available around a year after launch. A manual five-speed gearbox and start-stop technology will be offered as standard.

The Adam is predicted to cost from around £11,000 and will be offered in three levels of trim which are titled, rather nauseatingly, Jam, Glam and Slam. How much do you want to punch the marketing man that came up with that idea?

The Paris Motor Show runs from 27th September to 14th October.
