The Dacia Logan MCV, which has made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, is expected to become the UK's cheapest estate car when it goes on sale later this year.

The Logan MCV (Max Capacity Vehicle) is essentially an estate version of the Sandero supermini with a 573-litre boot which increases to 1518-litres when the rear seats are folded down. This makes the Logan MCV more spacious than the Ford Focus Estate and only slightly less capacious than the new VW Golf Estate.

A choice of two petrol engines will be on offer, including a 1.2-litre four-pot with 74bhp and a 0.9-litre three-cylinder turbo with 89bhp. There will also be a 1.5-litre 89bhp diesel with CO2 emissions of 99g/km.

UK prices have yet to be revealed, but expect the Logan MCV to cost from around £8,000 when it goes on sale this summer.
