Suzuki has revealed its new SX4 Crossover at the Geneva Motor Show. The new SX4 is set to rival the similarly-sized Nissan Qashqai in the C-segment crossover class.
The SX4 is based on the S-Cross concept which made its debut at last year's Paris Motor Show.
The new SX4 is 165mm longer and 10mm wider than the car it replaces. The upshot of this is that rear passengers get more legroom than before and boot space has increased from 270-litres to 430-litres.
Two engines are on offer in the new SX4 -- a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel -- and both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions will be on offer. Petrol models come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, while diesel models get a six-speed 'box. A CVT automatic transmission is also available and is equipped with a seven-speed manual mode which allows the driver to change gears manually using paddle shifters.
CO2 emissions range from 110g/km for the two-wheel-drive diesel with the six-speed manual gearbox to 136g/km for the four-wheel-drive petrol with either the manual or the CVT transmission.
The SX4 is also equipped with a double sliding glass sunroof which Suzuki claims is the first of its kind.
Prices for the new SX4 are expected to start from around £13,000 when the SX4 goes on sale later this year.
