SEAT has unveiled its all-new Leon ST at the Frankfurt Motor Show, announcing the full UK pricing details in the process.
The new Leon ST, which is the first estate version of the Leon ever offered, will cost from £16,675 when order books open on 1 October. The first customer deliveries have been pencilled in for January 2014.
Model-for-model, the new Leon ST costs £825 more than its hatchback equivalent, but offers 587-litres of boot space with the rear seats up, compared to the hatch's 380-litres, and 1,470-litres with the seats folded flat. A twin-level boot floor is also included as standard on higher-spec models, making loading heavy or bulky items easier.
The range consists of three different levels of trim -- S, SE and FR. S models are available with a choice of just two engines, a 104bhp 1.2 TSI petrol or a 1.6-litre 104bhp diesel.
SE models start from £17,740 and are offered with the same 1.2 and 1.6-litre engines offered on the S, with or without optional DSG automatic gearboxes, alongside a 138bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre 148bhp diesel, again offered with either manual or DSG transmissions.
Top-of-the-range FR models come with a choice of the 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesels but are also offered with a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol with 178bhp and a choice between manual and DSG 'boxes. The 2.0-litre diesel engine is also offered in a higher-output 182bhp guise. FR models start from £20,335.
