Land Rover has unveiled a sportier version of it Range Rover Evoque ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
The Evoque Autobiography Dynamic marks the introduction of the Autobiography name to the Evoque range and features a power increase and a range of handling tweaks.
Land Rover has upped the power from the existing 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine by 44bhp to 281bhp, with 295lb-ft of torque, a 44lb-ft increase. The power is sent to the wheels via a nine-speed ZF gearbox which the company claims is more responsive than the unit fitted to other Evoques.
The Active driveline system, which is optional on all Evoques, comes as standard on the Autobiography Dynamic, improving traction, agility and fuel efficiency by engaging four-wheel drive seamlessly and automatically only when required.
Land Rover has also specially tuned the car's steering for greater precision, while the chassis features upgraded suspension geometry, firmer springs and recalibrated active dampers and Torque Vectoring by Braking (TVB), which Land Rover claims reduces understeer on both low- and high-grip surfaces. Bigger 350mm front brake discs are also included as standard.
In addition to the mechanical tweaks, the Autobiography Dynamic gets a new front grille, a lower front valance, 20-inch forged alloy wheels and a new metallic body colour, Phoenix Orange.
Inside, the leather seats are available in six colours, with buyers able to choose between sports or premium climate seats.
The Evoque Autobiography Dynamic is available in both three- and five-door bodystyles and will go on sale later this year with prices expected to start from around £50,000.
