Almost fifty Porsche 918 Spyder models delivered in the UK are being recalled by the manufacturer.
Porsche has issued a global recall of all 918 Spyder models manufactured up to the end of April, including 47 sold in the UK, amid concerns that the electric wiring harness for the radiator fan could be damaged by a carbon-fibre component. Complaints sparked a detailed investigation into the cause of the issue, and manufacturing procedures were changed to rectify the potential fault going forward.
The manufacturer is stressing that the recall, which will entail a service shop inspection followed by a remounting of the wiring harness, is a precautionary measure. Porsche 918 Spyder owners are being contacted directly by the manufacturer’s authorised dealers, who will arrange the affected vehicles to be checked by Porsche technicians free of charge.
