Latest sales figures show that the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV remains the UK’s most popular plug-in electrified vehicle.
There were 537 sold in June, bringing the sales total for the first six months of the year to 3,732. Launched in 2014 the Outlander PHEV arrived just in time to capitalise on an explosion in plug-in hybrid sales, which went from fewer than 1,500 annually to over 13,000 within a year, and with plug-in hybrid sales up by more than a quarter the model remains major player in a huge growth sector.
Mitsubishi’s UK Managing Director Rob Lindley said, “The Outlander PHEV continues to appeal to buyers with its no compromise combination of SUV practicality, low running costs and four-wheel drive capability.”
Available to order from £34,255 on-the-road, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has a fuel economy figure of 141mpg, an electric range of up to 28 miles, and can be rapid-charged in 25 minutes or fully charged from a domestic home charge point in 4 hours.
