Mercedes will unveil its new C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series at the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

The most powerful C-Class ever made, the C 63 AMG Black is fitted with a 6.3-litre V8 which is tuned to develop 517bhp and 457lb-ft of torque, allowing the Black to sprint to 62mph in 4.2 seconds. AMG sports suspension and brakes should also make sure that the Black stops and steers as well as it goes. The optional AMG track package offers sports tyres and active rear-axle cooling while another optional pack - the AMG Aerodynamics package offers a front splitter and an adjustable carbon-fibre rear spoiler.

Mercedes is keen to play on its motorsport connections with the new Black and points out that AMG are the official safety car suppliers for Formula One racing. The CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, Ola Kallenius, said, "AMG has its roots in international motorsport. The new C 63 AMG Coupé Black Series is the best proof there is for the permanent transfer of technology from the race track to the road."

So if you're looking for a high performance saloon with a bit more exclusivity than a BMW M3, the C 63 AMG Black could be the car for you. Prices will be announced shortly and deliveries will start early next year.
