Orders are now being taken for the new Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI is priced from £33,460 for the 6-speed manual version and from £34,960 for the 7-speed DSG version. The latter is the quickest option, reaching 62 mph from a standing start in just 6.2 seconds courtesy of the quick-shifting automatic transmission and its 242bhp, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
Standard equipment includes an illuminated grille strip, LED fog lights, IQ Light LED matrix headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome plated twin tailpipes, unique GTI rear bumper, roof spoiler, smoked LED tail lights with dynamic turn signals, Jacara check cloth sports seats, a heated and leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, alumium-finished gearshift knob, Black Metal Chrome dash and door panels, keyless entry and start/stop system, Tri-Zone climate control, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors with built-in puddle lights, lane change assist, Travel Assist with Side Assist and Emergency Assist, a new front locking differential, and Vehicle Dynamics Manager system which controls all electromechanically adjustable running systems.
