The VW Beetle Fender Edition will go on sale in the UK in January 2013.

Originally shown at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Beetle pays tribute to one of the big names in rock music.

The Beetle Fender is fitted with a 200bhp 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine and features 18-inch 'moondisc' style alloy wheels and Bi-xenon headlights. All models will be finished in Deep Black Metallic paint with brushed chrome wing mirrors.

On the inside, the Beetle Fender's dash is finished in the same two-tone sunburst colour as the American firm's legendary Stratocaster guitar and features Fender's iconic logo.

Appropriately enough, the Beetle Fender also comes with a fairly impressive sound system with a 400W output and a 10-channel amplifier. Each car also comes with three limited-edition Fender plectrums.

Order books open on 2 January, with prices starting from £23,015.
