Audi has revealed the interior of its new TT for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The big news is the inclusion of what Audi calls its new 'virtual cockpit'. Instead of a traditional instrument cluster, the new TT gets a fully-digital screen which displays all the information directly in front of the driver.
The 12.3-inch TFT screen also removes the need for a central multimedia interface, with drivers being able to choose between two modes: classic, in which the speedometer and rev counter are more pronounced, and 'infotainment' mode, in which the instruments are smaller, freeing up space for functions such as the sat-nav.
There's also a multi-function steering wheel with a flat-bottomed rim and aluminium-look spokes. The buttons on the steering wheel allow the driver to control almost all of the functions, including the infotainment. Controls for the air-conditioning are housed in the air vents, which have been designed to resemble jet engines, while secondary controls such as the hazard warning lights remain on the centre console.
Audi will reveal the new TT at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with the first sales commencing in late 2014.
