Mitsubishi is set to launch its new small car at the Paris Motor Show later this month.

The Japanese firm claims that the new Mirage is focussed on fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions -- and perhaps that's why the official photograph released by Mitsubishi shows the car in green.

Mitsubishi will market the Mirage globally; however, it is likely that it will be renamed for the UK market, possibly as a replacement for the ageing Colt.

The Mirage's power comes from a tiny 1.0-litre three-pot petrol engine which utilises start/stop technology to achieve an impressive, and tax-busting, 92g/km of CO2.

The Mirage is expected to go on sale across Europe early next year, and we'll keep you updated when Mitsubishi releases more details.
