MINI have announced that they will showcase a new limited edition model at the forthcoming Shanghai Auto Show in China.

Called the MINI Inspired by Goodwood, and designed and built with input from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the new model will be limited to a production run of just 1,000 examples. Interior and exterior styling was developed by Rolls-Royce's design division in Goodwood, and the luxury car maker has introduced features such as Walnut Burr dashboard and door handles, black nappa leather dashboard top, cashmere linings, deep pile lambswool floor mats, and Piano Black surface finishes. Rolls-Royce's exclusive Cornsilk colour features heavily on the centre console, vents, leather seats, doors, and interior cladding on the Inspired by Goodwood model.

On the outside of the MINI Inspired by Goodwood, Rolls-Royce's metallic Diamond Black finish is used, along with 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. The special edition model is powered by a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine - producing 184bhp - borrowed from the new MINI Cooper S.

The MINI Inspired by Goodwood will come with Xenon Adaptive Headlights, Park Distance Control, automatic air conditioning, an onboard computer and the Radio MINI Visual Boost audio system with hi-fi speakers.

MINI have not confirmed the sale date or pricing details of the Inspired by Goodwood special edition model, with this information promised later in the year.
