We were as shocked as you were earlier this year when Mercedes announced it would take its very fast, very expensive and very ostentatious G63 AMG and turn it into something even more eye-swivellingly insane.
The result was this: the Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6. And the first thing you'll notice about it is that it has six -- count them, six -- wheels.
It also has a 5.5-litre V8 engine which chucks out 563bhp and 560lb-ft of torque, giving a 0-62mph time of less than six seconds. The top speed is pegged at 100mph which, while not exactly supercar territory, is probably as fast as you'll want to be going in a car which weighs nearly four tonnes.
Anyway, back to business. Mercedes has just revealed a price for this slab of six-wheeled lunacy and that price is... about £380,000 (the 6x6 will retail for 451,010 euros in Germany). This means that the 6x6 is more than three times more expensive than the standard G63, and that's not exactly cheap.
However, when you consider that you could realistically conquer several small countries in the 6x6, and use your newfound ill-gotten wealth to pay off the finance agreement, you could argue that the big Merc is good value for money.
The first dictators customers will receive their cars in early 2014.
