The new Mazda6 will be unveiled at the Moscow Motor Show next month.

The Mazda6 is the second car to be offered with Mazda's new SKYACTIV technology and KODO design language after the CX-5, so expect a range of ultra-efficient petrol and diesel engines and excellent fuel economy. The Mazda6 has always been one of our favourite large family cars thanks to its sharp handling, and the new model should be lighter than its predecessor, making it even more fun through the bends.

Also available on the new car is the new i-ELOOP (where do they get these names?) brake energy recuperation technology, which should help boost fuel economy and keep CO2 emissions low.

The model which will go on show in Moscow will be a Russian-spec saloon with the new SKYACTIV 2.0-litre petrol engine and an automatic gearbox.

The Mazda6 will be unveiled on 29th August.
