Lexus will be using next week's Frankfurt Motor Show to gauge the public's reaction to this, its new LF-NX SUV concept, which is designed to rival the likes of the Range Rover Evoque and the Audi Q3.
Striking, isn't it?
Although just a concept at this stage, Lexus claims that the LF-NX previews the future direction of the company's 'L-finesse' design language. At the front end there's a huge variant on Lexus' signature spindle grille, along with what Lexus calls "extremely expressive" front lights with independent daytime-running lights.
It's the same story at the back too where you'll find a highly angular pair of rear lights which echo those fitted to the LF-CC concept which was revealed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The LF-NX is finished in a new Brushed Metal Silver finish which Lexus says gives the impression that the car is hewn from a single piece of solid metal.
On the inside, the LF-NX is similarly striking thanks to a combination of orange upholstery and blue interior lighting. There's a prominent centre console and a digital display screen which replaces many of the buttons you'd normally find on the dashboard.
Under that angular bonnet you'll find the same 2.5-litre petrol hybrid drivetrain you get in the IS 300h, with a total power output of 200bhp.
