Lexus will unveil its new BMW 4 Series-rivalling RC Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
First unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, the new RC Coupe is based on the same platform used by the GS and will be available with a 2.5-litre version of Lexus' full hybrid drive system, named the RC300h, when it goes on sale next year.
The RC300h's petrol engine will develop 176bhp and 163lb-ft of torque, and will be joined by an electric motor which will send the power to the wheels through a CVT gearbox.
There'll also be a new RC 300h F Sport model making its first appearance in Geneva, boasting improved dynamics and a number of exterior and interior design features which differentiate it from the rest of the models in the range. It will be powered by Lexus' most powerful V8 engine to date, generating "in excess of 450bhp."
On the outside, the F Sport gets the widest and lowest interpretation yet of Lexus' signature 'spindle' grille, along with 19-inch wheels and an aggressive rear bumper design. All RC Coupe models will be available in a choice of seven exterior colours, while F Sport models get an additional three hues: White Nova, Blue and Orange.
Inside, all RC Coupes get a four-seat layout, while F models get a steering wheel and gear lever wrapped in perforated leather and a mode-dependent central dial akin to that fitted to the LFA supercar.
The F Sport also gets a range of dynamic upgrades, including tuned front and rear suspension and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).
