The Lexus GS 300h hybrid is available to order now, with prices starting from £31,495.
Unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year, the GS 300h sits beneath the existing 450h in the GS line-up -- the first time Lexus has offered two different hybrid powertrains in a single model.
The GS 300h is fitted with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor which together develop 220bhp.
There are four trim levels to choose from -- SE, Luxury, F Sport and Premier -- with all models coming with 17-inch alloy wheels, 10 airbags, DAB radio, a DVD player, cruise control, parking sensors and electrically-adjustable heated front seats.
With CO2 emissions of 109g/km and a combined fuel consumption figure of 60.1mpg, Lexus claims that the GS 300h offers "best-in-class" benefit-in-kind rates for company car drivers. The 300h is certainly much more efficient than the 450h, which manages just 46.3mpg and 141g/km of CO2.
The first customer deliveries of the new GS 300h are expected in January 2014.
