We already know that both McLaren and Ferrari will be showcasing their new hypercars at the Geneva Motor Show, and now it appears that Lamborghini is preparing to join the fight with a top secret new model.
Ladies and gentlemen, pray silence please for the Lamborghini Veneno.
Unlike the new Ferrari Enzo successor and the McLaren P1, the Veneno is not an all-new car. Underneath the car's striking bodywork you'll find the carbon-fibre monocoque and the 6.5-litre V12 engine from the Lamborghini Aventador.
However, whereas the Aventador produces a piffling 700bhp, the Veneno churns out 740bhp, making it the most powerful Lamborghini ever made. Top speed: 220mph.
The Veneno -- which, incidentally, means 'Poison' in Spanish -- has been built to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary.
It will be available only in red, white and green, the colours of the Italian flag (the car you see above is the test version, and will not be sold), and will cost the not inconsiderable sum of £3.1million.
Oh, and Lamborghini is only planning to produce three cars (one in each colour) and, unfortunately, they've already been sold.
