The new Koenigsegg One:1 has been revealed ahead of its debut at next week's Geneva Motor Show and is set to eclipse the SSC Ultimate Aero as the most powerful production car... in the world.
So-called because of its 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, the One:1 weighs 1340kg and produces 1,322bhp (or 1,340 metric horsepower). The power comes from the 5.0-litre V8 engine from the Agera, on which the One:1 is based, which is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an electronical differential.
As a result, Koenigsegg claims the One:1 will set new records for 0-62mph, 0-124mph and 0-186mph times, and believes that the car will be capable of hitting 250mph from a standing start in around 20 seconds.
The One:1's chassis is around 20 per cent lighter than the Agera's, and Koenigsegg has given the car active aerodynamics, active ride height, variable stiffness suspension, a titanium exhaust, uprated tyres and a huge rear wing to press the rear wheels onto the road.
Given the One:1's impressive performance figures, it's also possible that Koenigsegg is gunning for the title of the fastest car in the world, currently held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport with a speed of 267.8mph.
Koenigsegg has not revealed how much the One:1 will cost; however, price is largely an irrelevance given that all models have already been sold.
