Kia have revealed their updated Soul and new Rio 3-door model at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Soul is longer and wider than its predecessor and has received a number of exterior styling tweaks. The new car also gets new 18" alloys. On the inside, a revised centre console is complemented by a choice of new fabrics (Leather, Houndstooth and Tartan), and a new 'Supervision' instrument cluster.

Under the bonnet there's a new 1.6-litre diesel engine on offer and a choice of six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions.

The Soul will be available to buy in the UK from next month.

The Rio 3-door has the same exterior dimensions as the 5-door and will be made available with the same engines, equipment and options list at the 5-door model. Kia predict that the 3-door model will account for roughly a quarter of all Rios sold.

The 3-door Rio will be on sale in Blighty from early next year.
