This, ladies and gentlemen, is the new 'Jean Bugatti' Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the second of six special edition Veyrons which Bugatti is building to commemorate individuals who have shaped the company's history.
We told you about the new car yesterday after Bugatti released a teaser image on its official Facebook page; however, this is the first time we've seen the car in full.
The new model follows on from the Jean-Pierre Wimille edition Veyron which was revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance last month. This one, however, commemorates Jean Bugatti, the eldest son of company founder Ettore Bugatti, who was tragically killed at the age of 30 when he lost control of the company's Type 57 Le Mans racer during testing in 1939.
The car references the gorgeous Bugatti 57SC Atlantic, which was one of Jean Bugatti's most famous and iconic designs.
The 'Jean Bugatti' Veyron alongside the 57SC Atlantic
Mechanically-speaking, the Jean Bugatti Veyron is identical to the standard Grand Sport Vitesse. This means an 8.0-litre W16 engine, 1200bhp, 1106lb-ft of torque, 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 254mph.
On the outside, the Jean Bugatti Veyron is built entirely from black clear-coated carbon-fibre and gets diamond-cut alloy wheels and -- get this -- a grille surround made from platinum. Why? Well, we're guessing because gold is just a little too cheap.
Step inside and you'll find a beige-'n'-brown interior which echoes that of the 57SC Atlantic, along with 57SC embroideries on the door panels and a rosewood gear lever. The door sill plates are even engraved with the likeness of Jean Bugatti himself.
If you fancy owning a Jean Bugatti Veyron, you'll have to be two things: quick and rich. Bugatti is building just three examples, each of which will set you back the not-inconsiderable sum of £1.92m.
