Vauxhall are celebrating after sealing a new deal to supply 28 Police forces with new vehicles.
In one of the biggest Police fleet deals ever the company will supply over 2,000 vehicles, with UK-built Astras accounting for 1,200 of those. The latest Astra can provide a 4G LTE mobile hub with connectivity for up to seven smartphones and tablets thanks to the OnStar system. OnStar even includes a Police-spec ignition block, which can be triggered remotely in the event of a vehicle being stolen.
Joining those Astras in the two-year, multi-million pound mega deal will be Brit-built Vivaro vans, Corsas, and Insignias.
At the same time, it has been announced that six fire and rescue services have also chosen Vauxhall as a vehicle provider.
“We are delighted to supply the Police with this huge order,” said Rory Harvey, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director. “Efficiency is a top priority for all Police forces and the investment made in these Vauxhalls will mean officers spend more time preventing crime.”
