The prices of original Minis are skyrocketing and it’s becoming increasingly tricky to bag a bargain. And because – how shall we put this – the Mini wasn’t the most rust-resistant car in the world, the number of genuine, rust-free examples on the roads is dwindling at a rate of knots.
But if you are looking to invest in a Mini, Anglia Car Auctions have two tidy examples going up for auction on Saturday 4th April.
One car has just 18 miles on the clock from new while the other has a measly 137. Both examples are Mini 30 special editions, two of a limited run of 3,000 cars designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original Mini back in 1989.
They’re both completely original, retaining their original alloy wheels and Mini 30 trim. They both still have their handbooks, brochures and commemorative books, as originally provided by Austin Rover.
But be warned, neither are cheap. The black 18-mile car is expected to go for between £11,000 and £15,000, while the red car is expected to fetch more than £4,000.
Lyn George from Anglia Car Auctions said “These cars are bound to attract Mini collectors from all over, especially being such low mileage Mini 30s in pristine condition.”
