Hyundai is supporting Stand Up To Cancer with a brand new take on donating, it is a world-first in fund-raising, and we think that it's a pretty cool idea.
A Hyundai IONIQ (the zero emissions electric vehicle) is being converted into a ‘Contactless Car’ – allowing members of the public a quick, easy, and fun way to donate to charity as they pass by.
There will be 5 contactless payment points embedded into the IONIQ, giving people the opportunity to TAP TO GIVE™ £5 or £10 to Stand Up To Cancer.
Every donation will lead to an audio, visual or electronic reaction from the bespoke car as an acknowledgement to the generosity.
In addition, the contactless IONIQ will feature an in-car photo booth which will instantly print photographs that can then be stuck onto the car's exterior. Over time the car will be covered in a mosiac of the faces of the donaters who opted to use the photo booth feature.
Perhaps even cooler than the photo booth feature is the simple but brilliant number plate, or should we say 'the money plate', which displays a live total as the donations come in. Superb.
The launch event will be at King’s Cross station on May 22 where the contactless IONIQ car will be revealed, a roadshow will follow, where the car will appear at Hyundai dealerships and events across the UK until November 2017.
The contactless car supports Hyundai’s pledge to help Stand Up To Cancer raise vital funds for revolutionary life-saving research.
