Lovers of small 4x4 cars might be glad to know that Hyundai has finally released the first images of the third-generation Santa Fe.
While the world premiere of the all-new Santa Fe won't take place until April at the New York International Auto Show, the car maker has shown the first images of the eagerly-awaited car to the public.
This latest model is the third generation of the Santa Fe small 4x4. According to the brand, the new car is based on Hyundai's design philosophy, called Fluidic Sculpture, and it adopts its own design concept named "Storm Edge."
Hyundai claims that the "Storm Edge" design concept - which captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm - reveals the future of Hyundai's 4x4 designs.
Since its debut in 2000, 2.56 million Santa Fes have been sold worldwide. Recently, Hyundai Motor UK Ltd was named the Best Car Manufacturer 2011 by Which? magazine and Car Franchise of the Year by Motor Trader in 2010 and 2011.
Santa Fe design
As the images reveal, the new Santa Fe model adopts a hexagonal grille. This feature, together with a two-tone body and wider front and rear bumpers, has created a very futuristic small 4x4.
Hyundai claims its all-new Santa Fe features "sophisticated and refined" lines, which are "in harmony with bold and voluminous surfaces."
The car also has a "more aggressive and classic look than its predecessor."
According to Hyundai, the vehicle's main selling points are “Refinement, Smartness and Practicality”. The manufacturer hopes that, from its launch next April, the vehicle will offer customers a bold new design, cutting-edge technologies, good fuel economy and practical use of space.
