Trying to establish a fledgling car brand must be difficult enough. But what must be even more difficult is trying to establish a luxury car brand in one of the most conservative markets in the industry and trying to do so during one of the worst recessions in history.
Which makes it all the more impressive that Infiniti has managed to cause such a stir in the luxury car market. Okay, Nissan's luxury arm is undoubtedly a long way off making a significant impact on the UK market; however, we think that the firm shows great promise. The new Q50 saloon which was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year looks genuinely interesting and Infiniti's current model line-up consists of a range of classy, stylish and refined cars. Infiniti might not yet be troubling its German rivals in terms of sales, but it is rivalling them in terms of quality.
