The new Ford B-Max will be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show, the manufacturer has announced.

The compact B-Max, which goes on sale in the UK in September, will be available with Ford's new 123bhp 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, along with the Duratorq range of TDCi diesel power plants. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine should return a combined fuel economy of 58.9mpg.

Ford are making a big deal of the flexibility of the B-Max's seating and load space. The manufacturer claims the model will have class-leading load space, and that the doors - which incorporate the central pillars in their design - will give improved access for occupants and their luggage over conventional designs.

It will be the first time the all-new B-Max will have been seen in public in production ready form, and Ford President and CEO Alan Mulally will be flying over to Switzerland to conduct the unveiling personally. It was originally showcased as a concept model in Geneva twelve months ago.
